I did a huge binge read of this series (all standalones) and it's the first time I can say that a series got better with each book, and Storms Over Secrets is my favorite!! I absolutely adored this book - I knew from the previous books that I loved Cain and his hilarious sense of humor. I loved that this book was mainly in his pov, and his wit was turned up full force!

"I need to change my thought process before I end up with an ill-timed d*ck tent. Deer guts. Dog sh*t. Old saggy t*tties. Whew, problem solved."

J.A. DeRouen's writing just gets better and better and I fell hard for Cain and Celia and their emotional story. It was the perfect balance of emotion and humor and I'd give it more stars if I could! I will forever read every single thing she writes. Every one of her books is better than the last!

This is a standalone book but you NEED to read the first two books in the series. Ceila and Cain stole my heart in Hope Over Fear and they never gave it back to me.

I've been so excited for this one and I loved how it surprised me! Celia and Cain's story has been building since the first book in the series and I really enjoyed watching their romance finally play out. It wasn't easy and I kind of sped read through the beginning until I reached the "present" (where the last book ended) and I wasn't disappointed. I actually thought I knew how it was going to play out but I was pleasantly surprised that it took a twist I never expected. I also loved seeing the previous relationships play out from the start again and to relive their love stories too. I hope there's more coming from this series because I really enjoy all these characters.
I read this book in two days. I grieved when it ended. It was such a beautiful book. This is my favorite out of the three that have been published so far. There is a dynamic to this writing that draws you in and attaches you to the characters. One of my favorite things is that J.A. DeRouen adds song titles at the beginning of each chapter, and if you grab your phone and turn them on while you read the chapters, it takes the journey to a whole new level. Most of the songs I knew and loved, but there were a few that I had never heard of, and so I was introduced to new music.

The writing is impeccable, the characters well-defined. This third book answers a lot of questions that you have from the first two books, as the author really takes her time developing each set of characters in each book. I am so excited for Marlo's story to come out this season.
Cain is a sweet man with two moms, grandma and a grouchy grandfather who forgets himself sometimes. When a new girl rents an property of his and gets locked out, his grandfather orders him to go help her out. Once he arrives, he is stunned. This tiny girl who looked like Tinkerbell makes him stand up and notice that there's something special about this happy girl. It's clear that the sparks are flying.

As time goes on, Cain wants her more and more. But Celia aka Tink as Cain calls her has secrets of her own. She is not as happy as it seems. Even she's falling madly for him, she has secrets in her past that makes her think that she does not deserve another chance at love. It doesn't help that her best friend agrees.

There's good twists in this book that will leave you stunned. When do you move on? When it's okay to say goodbye? Cain helps Tink find her way. What a lovely book. This series is really a great one.
As I read through this series by JA DeRouen.. I found myself saying, "Wow, that was definitely my favorite of them all" after each book. Every book I read by this author seriously got better and better as I went. Her writing is unbelievable, it is probably my favorite of them all. This story took over my life. I could not put it down and when I did- I dreamt about these characters. This story was so emotional, but beyond worth it.
JA DeRouen braved so many tough topics in this one story, and I applaud the way she handled each one. Through-out this story, I teared up, I yelled, I was blindsided (in a good way)- BUT I also smiled, laughed, and felt ALL the love.
This story was about true love and devotion and commitment. It hurt but it felt so good. This story killed me but It was so good. It deserves to be read and reread by everyone. Period. That is it.
I NEED MORE JA DEROUEN STORIES.
If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I don't think I've had such a happy cry in a long time. My heart is so full I can't find the words right now to say just how wonderful this story is. Ms. DeRouen covered a lot of tough subjects but really did her research. Author, Claire Kingsley, recommended this book. She said she likes to write about love and romance with a GOOD man. Cain is a GOOD man, one of the finest I've met in quite awhile. He was all about true love, devotion and commitment to Celia, fondly known as "Tink". She was beautiful and just like a fairy princess, sweet and vulnerable. Cain literally saves her.
The other characters were so wonderfully written and thought out. I especially loved the playlist that accompanied every Chapter. I would love to read more books by Ms. DeRouen. Thank you for a wonderfully written love story.
